About Us
For over 30 years Art Gomez has helped push the PWC industry to a new level by creating innovative new products and setting a worldwide reputation with what can be achieved with a PWC engine. Graduating top of his class from Arizona Automotive Institute in 1980, he quickly became an expert in Japanese motors, but while growing up on the Colorado River in Blythe, California he always had a strong interest in water sports. After buying a jet boat and looking for something more challenging, he was introduced to the Jet Ski by his friend Tom Kerker of Splash Magazine.
By this time he had accumulated vast experience in building high performance engines, and then decided to branch off in to the PWC world. Jetworks® was born In 1985 In Santa Ana, CA in the highly competitive Southern California market. Quickly obtaining a good reputation he decided in 1988 to dedicate himself full time to the industry by opening a 3500SqFt shop closer to the ocean in Newport Beach, CA. Jetworks® soon became known as one of the premier shops consistently producing high quality competition skis. Now with the direction of the sport changing, in late 2010 he decided to focus on the true high performance enthusiast needs and move to a new shop in Santa Ana, CA.
Every engine we build leaves as if we were using it the following day, every product we sell goes because we trust it. We do this for the love of mechanics, we do this for the love of our sport, but most importantly we value our reputation, that is why we strive to surpass your expectations and provided you with the very best.
Testimonials
In today’s business climate we generally give STRONG feedback when things go wrong, and give less enthusiastic (if any) feedback when things go well. Because of Art’s skills, knowledge and patience, my last two builds came out perfectly. This is no small feat! You know we, the PWC community, are a fickle bunch, ever changing our minds. Art has a unique take on running a business and giving advice.. its called HONESTY. Art could have up sold me several times for the latest innovation, but he talked me through the hype, and saved me money without sacrificing performance or reliability.
In addition, his tuning expertise saved me time. I literally installed the motor packages, set the carb screws to his specs, and rode all day with no tuning issues whatsoever! Mine is not an isolated case, many others have experienced the same consistent results. As our sport rapidly evolves, I’m excited to see what new innovations are around the next bend! With that I look forward to continuing my relationship with Art at Jetworks Performance well into the future.

Im originally from Southern California and I used to race competitively in the 90′s. Back in the day I was using a what people considered a high end performance shop that had lots of people racing for them. I got them to build me a SuperStock Ski as I wanted to go on tour that year, and when I first rode it I thought it was as fastest thing ever. About a month later at the local riding spot, this guy with two Jetworks Built SuperJet’s showed up to practice. Being a little over confident I challenged him to race, this was a giant mistake. He got the hole shot and stayed in front of me the entire 6 laps we did. I was bummed out but I figured that I might need to take my ski back to get tuned up again. I complemented him on his super stock since it was obviously well built, but I was not expecting the response he gave me. He told that was his limited ski. His super stock was still on the trailer. Long story short I didn’t go on tour that year.
Now over 15 years later, i’m finally getting back into the sport again, and i’m extremely happy to see that Jetworks is still around. I’ve ordered a complete engine package from them to drop into my 2013 SuperJet and dealing with them has been incredibly easy and they been nothing but helpful. I really wish i would have went to them when I got my first ski in the 90′s, there a good chance I would have never quit had my stuff been built correctly from day one. Thanks Guys!

I had been out of the standup scene for about 8 years before getting back into it. After going to a few free rides and riding different skis from different engine builders it seemed the most bang for the buck was from Jetworks. I gave Art a call and he never pushed any parts on me just told me what he thought I should do. I listened and have been VERY happy with the outcome. Since then, we have worked with 2 800 SXR engines and 1 SJ 701. All I can say is all 3 rip! Having my motor set up by Jetworks with Black Jack Carbs is the best set up I have ever ran.

I decided to go with Art at Jetworks after riding a friend’s ski. With only a Jetworks port job and modified Black Jack T.T. 38′s, head and prop I couldn’t believe how the ski ran and performed. In the mean time I attended some of the free rides and test rode a whole load of other setups from other larger companies. Being active on the forums I was able to do my research and look at all the options presented, when it came time to upgrade my current motor. After many conversations with Art I decided to go with a 5mm stroker, to complete the package, paired up some 44mm Black Jack Carburetors. He recommended the prop, jetting, ignition curve, pipe settings everything. He promptly answered all and any questions I have ever asked. Going this direction was the best money I ever spent on my ski. If and when the time comes to upgrade Jetworks will be the ONLY people I talk too. If you have any doubts, give him a call.

I have been a customer of Art Gomez at Jetworks since 2008, when I asked Art to rebuild a cheap “forum special” big bore cylinder. Since then, I have had him put together a big bore motor package, complete with his 46mm Black Jack carburetors, pipe setup, ignition programming, and even the complete pump package to round everything out. I have ran that package in a stock SuperJet hull and in an aftermarket 56lb carbon hull. It has consistently outperformed bigger, shinier billet motors costing much more. It has always put a smile on my face and amazed others who tried it.
Many of my close friends decided to have Art build them a motor, or set up carburetors, or just talk to him after trying out my setup. He has never steered me wrong and was always most interested in making sure my budget gets spent right. No unnecessary components, no flashy parts, and no bandwagon hype, only proven performance for the right price.
Art is now building my new motor for me; a 1000cc +10mm stroker motor for considerably less than what other 1000cc class motors go for. I am happy to spend my money with Jetworks because I know I will get results, I know I have someone with decades of proven knowledge to talk to, and I know I get the best value for my money.

I thought life was good, that is until I sent Art my motor, then found life to be GREAT! Art Gomez is one of the few people in our sport that tells you what he is going to do and then actually does it exactly as promised. For those who might think Art only does race specific setups really needs to ride one of his complete package skis. I for one can attest to the fact that Art knows things about two strokes that nobody else seems to know. I cant understand how he gets so much power out of some OEM cylinders? Send your engine to Art and find out! I am living proof that he makes great power with a seemingly conservative package.

I purchased a Jetworks 4mm Stroker around 2 years ago. From the first time I tried the engine (in a Rickter FR2) to this day (now in a Krash JB1) the engine amazes me. It has certainly embarrassed some larger and more expensive engines I have ridden. Another large selling point for me is the after sales knowledge and advise available from Art about your engine and set up that is second to none, which in my opinion is priceless.

We have used many different engine builders and engine configurations over the years but always found there was a compromise. We had an engine that was great value, but lacked in performance, or an engine that ripped your arms off and burnt a hole in your pocket. This is where Art at Jetworks shines. He builds a super strong engine at a great price that rivals anything built by the other big names.
Not only do you get an engine that rips, you also get the best service and after sales support. Period. You won’t find better, and as we all know, good help is becoming increasingly harder to find these days.

I chose Art at Jetworks to build my Kawasaki based freestyle motor after many conversations with other forum members on x-h20.com
This was such an easy decision after talking to him on the phone and through emails. Talking to Art is like reading a book on performance, every question you have he will explain, the good and a lot of the time bad, which isn’t always a bad thing. He will work with you and your budget to find the best possible combo of mods that will put you and your ski right where you want it. Very good communication and will always get back to you within a timely manner. My Kawasaki 850cc ski that I had him build ran flawlessly and out performed similar and even bigger cc motors built by other top companies.
Art at Jetworks would be the first choice if you want the bang for your buck and support that makes it all worthwhile.
