Titanium Retainer & Spring Kit - Sea-Doo - Jetworks

We are friends with some highly respected builders here in Southern California who specialize in extreme high-performance rally and drift cars powered by Honda K-series, Subaru, Toyota 2JZ, and Nissan RB engines. These cars are subjected to some of the harshest valvetrain abuse imaginable — aggressive cams, rapid clutch kicks, constant high-RPM operation, and repeated hard hits of the rev limiter during drifts and stage runs.

In many ways, the demands placed on these engines closely mirror what we see in the high-performance watercraft world. Just like in a ski or race boat, the engine is constantly being slammed on and off the limiter, with violent throttle transitions and sustained high-rpm loads that punish conventional valve springs.

That’s exactly why we designed the Jetworks Spring and Titanium Retainer kit around a single tappered valve spring design.

The tapered spring design dramatically allows us to use titanium retainers that are custom-matched to our springs and are lighter-weight than those used on a dual spring configuration!. This lower reciprocating weight improves valve control at high RPM, reduces the tendency for valve float, and allows the engine to rev cleaner and more stably even under the brutal on-off throttle abuse. The progressive rate and varying coil diameter also help dampen harmful harmonics far better than traditional cylindrical dual springs, giving more consistent valve motion and greater valve spring durability when the engine is repeatedly hammered against the limiter.

If your current springs, OEM, stock, Jetworks, or a different aftermarket brand, have any clear rust or pitting on them, you must replace them, or else you have a high risk of spring failure, which causes catastrophic engine failure.
